BIOGRAPHY
Shannon J. Spencer is a Production Stage Manager based in Nashville, Tennessee. She has lived and worked in the greater Nashville area for the last 20 years after graduating with a double major in Dramatic Arts and Communications Studies from Trevecca Nazarene University. She has worked with over 20 different companies and completed 200+ projects during her time in Nashville.
Ms. Spencer is in her 10th year of residency with Franklin Road Academy as the Production Stage Manager for the Upper School Program and enjoys the opportunity to mentor the students through four main-stage productions each season. Most recently, Ms. Spencer has launched her original workshop, Stage Management: 101. After realizing the need for trained stage managers in her home theatre community, she is taking the workshop to high schools and universities with theatre programs, as well as offering opportunities to the community-at-large, to be educated and empowered to take on the role of Stage Manager.
Ms. Spencer believes that a strong focus on organization and communication is key to a successful project. She strives to be the utmost of professionalism in every aspect and loves to look outside the box to expand her wealth of knowledge in the fields of Stage Management and producing. She has produced shows of varying different types, ranging from traditional musicals to avant-garde performance arts pieces and installations. She continues to explore new ways to communicate with and develop established and emerging artists to expand into this ever evolving world of art.
